County Meet Information

Congratulations to all of the swimmers for an outstanding dual meet season!  We finished the dual meet season with a strong finish!  A special congratulations to our graduating seniors Aidan Delliponti and Coach Haden Hebenstreit.  The coaches are extremely proud of each and every swimmer for their outstanding efforts and sportsmanship!!!

The final meet will be the
    Gwinnett County Championship Meet
held at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center (1996 Olympic Pool).  This meet is a wonderful event and a great experience for swimmers.  The meet will be held on Saturday, July 13 (9&10's - am session; 13-14's and 15-18's - pm session) and Sunday, July 14 (6 & unders, 7-8's - am session; 11-12's - pm session).  The top 50 individuals and one relay per team per age group will be eligible to participate in the County Meet.  We will need everyone that is listed in the top 100 of any event to please RSVP your intentions by this evening, Tuesday 6:00 PM.

If your swimmer is listed in the top 50 in an event then they are guaranteed an opportunity to participate.  Swimmers ranked 51st - 100th may end up participating depending on the number of swimmers ranked ahead of them that either choose not to participate in the meet or select other events.  A swimmer can only participate in a maximum of 3 individual events.  A rough draft of our county entries will be sent out for parents to look over.  Any requests for changes should be sent to Coach Rick at [email protected].  All swimmers ranked in the top 100 will be entered in their 3 highest ranking events, but swimmer input is welcomed.  Entries are due to the league by noon this Thursday.  We will find out this Sunday evening which swimmers qualified for the county meet.

Our team can enter one medley relay and one free relay per age group.  We will determine relays based on the fastest swimmers participating in the meet.  The top 100 individual times and top relay times are attached and posted on our team SwimTopia site.

We will run practices this week (Wed. and Fri.) from 8:00 - 9:00 and 9:00 - 10:00 for swimmers that are ranked in the top 100 in an event.  Any ranked swimmer that normally swims from 10:00 - 10:30 should attend the 9:00 practice.  All next week we will run practices at the same time (Monday thru Friday) for those participating in the meet (individually and/or relays).  It would be great if we can take a large contingent to the meet.  It will be a memorable event for both swimmers and families!!!!!

We hope to see everyone at the team party in two weeks!!!!

    Thanks,
    Coach Rick
