Top 100 Individual after week 6

    Parents and swimmers,

I have attached the updated top 100 Individual times after the conclusion of the meets that were held tonight.  The top 50 swimmers in each event will qualify to participate in the Gwinnett County Championship Meet held July 8-10 at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center (home of the 1996 Olympic Games).  It is imperative that swimmers declare their intention for this meet and select the events that they would like to swim.  We encourage every swimmer that would like to participate to select events they are ranked in the top 100.  If your swimmer is ranked in more than 3 individual events, then we suggest that you select the higher ranked events unless a swimmer feels more confident that they can improve their time in another event.  The top 30 placing swimmers will score team points at the meet.  A swimmer can win the event from any heat.

The league has asked us to emphasize that swimmers should not declare that they will be in the meet and then scratch.  Teams will be fined $100 for any no show at the meet.  The reason for this is a swimmer is taking up a spot that another swimmer could have used.

Our team entries are due Wednesday evening at 6 PM.  We ask that everyone declare their intentions and select their events by 3 PM on Wednesday.  Emails will be sent out on Wednesday so parents and swimmers can double check their events to make sure there are no errors.

We hope to get a great turnout for this meet.  This meet is a great opportunity for swimmers to experience a championship meet.  Parents will be allowed to spectate this year!  There will be limited tickets per family.  We will also be asking for volunteers to work the meet.  Working the meet is a great way to see the meet close up!

    Go Wahoos!

    Thanks,

    Coach Rick
