Top Relays after week 6
Attached are the top relay times after week 6.
We will be entering an A relay for each age group (both a medley and free relay). Relays count double points and play a significant role in the team standings. We will try to field the fastest relays we can put together using the swimmers that will be available for the meet. We may need some swimmers that do not qualify individually to participate in relays. This may be the case especially in the 11-12 boys and 15-18 girls age groups. Relays are fluid and may change over the course of the next two weeks.
The relays will swim first in the meet (free relay followed by the medley relay). There is a break after the relays and then the individual events are run.
Our relays are overall seeded extremely high in each age group. Swimmers should be cautious however not to assume that a high seed guarantees a high finish! The relays are exciting and can be a little unpredictable. We hope to perform well, but more importantly, have fun! We want every athlete to have a positive experience and to understand that this meet will be a learning experience and hopefully they will have many more meets in their future!
Parents, while we know how exciting it is for our children to participate and hopefully perform well, please be careful not to place too much pressure on this meet. Heidi and I know from experience having raised two daughters ourselves, one of which competed at the National level. We want the swimmers to be focused and excited, but not fearful!
Go Wahoos!
Thanks,
Coach Rick
