Updated MV at CE meet results

The updated meet results are attached.  The seed time is the entry time and the official time is the performance from last night's meet.  Hopefully the relay names are all correct.  If a relay is listed as exhibition, it is because we swam a relay with fewer than 4 swimmers.  This occurs when a swimmer is either a no-show, leaves the meet early, or falls ill during the meet.  We want to make sure that the swimmers that stay until the end of the meet does not leave disappointed by not being able to swim on a relay.

No-shows are a great disservice to the team.  Often these no-shows require the shuffling of relays and creates a great deal of work for bullpen parents and coaches.  We ask that you please declare your intentions before the 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 24th, entry deadline for next week's meet.  If you anticipate a conflict and want to enter your swimmer, please provide a note so we can leave your swimmer out of the relays.  Due to entry limits for certain events, it may mean that your swimmer will only be entered in the back and short free events since these events allow for unlimited entries.

Next week's meet will be for the North Central Divisional Championship.  Rivermoore Park and Chateau Elan are the only two undefeated teams in our division.  We have won the division for the past 3 seasons.  It will take a huge team effort to defeat Rivermoore Park. Our meet will be at their home pool.  Their pool only has 5 lanes, so our entries will be further limited in the IM, long free, breast, and fly events.

This will be the last meet before the County Championship Meet.  For swimmers that do not qualify or plan to attend the County Meet, this meet will mark the end of the season.  We will have a Fun Friday next week and a team party after the County Meet.

For swimmers that are hoping to qualify for County, you should look over the county rankings and try to decide which event(s) may be your best chances of making the meet.  The top 50 in each event qualify to attend.  A swimmer may only compete in 3 individual events at County.  Swimmers that are currently not ranked in the top 50 may still qualify after entries are submitted.  Many swimmers will drop out of the top 50 once entries are submitted.  For example, a swimmer could be ranked 75th and still make it into the meet.  Entries for County will be submitted a few days after our meet next Thursday.  We ask that you pay close attention to emails during that time period as we will be sending out rough drafts of entries for you to examine.  We do not want to leave anyone out of the meet, nor do we want to place them in events that they do not desire.  There are no team entry limits for individuals (for example we could enter 10 swimmers in the breaststroke).  We are only allowed to enter 1 medley and free relay per age group. We will not know which swimmers (outside of the top 50) get into the meet until after all entries are officially submitted.  Swimmers that have a chance to qualify are encouraged to attend practice at least up until the qualifiers are determined.  The 10-10:30 practice slot will be moved to 9:00 AM starting on Monday, June 30.

We would like to thank all of the parents that have pitched in and volunteered their expected work shifts during the meets.  We have some parents that have gone FAR above the call of duty to cover for parents that have not done their fair share of service.  Swim meets provide parents and relatives a great opportunity to experience the meet along with their swimmer by showing their support by volunteering.  It is a great way to set a great example by showing your swimmer how much you care about their participation!!! This is a lesson in volunteering that your swimmer will long remember and hopefully make a lasting impression that may lead them to follow your example should they one day have a family of their own.  Heidi and I have so many fond memories of all the years we spent with our daughters during their childhood.  Please make your swimmers proud by doing your fair share.  And thanks to everyone for supporting the Chateau Elan swim team.  We are extremely proud of each and every swimmer along with their families.  We feel blessed to be part of such and incredible community!

    Warmest regards,

    Coaches Heidi and Rick
